Using Dental Implants to support a denture

Dental implants can also be used to secure removable dentures. The benefits of this method are as follows:

• This makes the dentures very firm and stable, so that all foods can be eaten.
• There is no risk of loose dentures becoming an embarrassment.
• The advantage of implant being used to secure dentures is a cost saving, as less implants are needed compared to fixed implant teeth.
• Implant secured dentures are also very useful in situations where there is insufficient bone for a full set of implants.

The dentures attach to the implant by small push buttons, a little like ‘press-studs’.
